ISRO Chairman Dr. Narayanan Visits Tirumala Temple Ahead of the Historic GSLV F-15 Launch

ISRO Chairman Dr. Narayanan paid homage at the Tirumala Srivarini shrine today, coinciding with the GSLV F-15 satellite’s scheduled launch on Wednesday. Temple authorities cordially welcomed the Chairman and performed customary ceremonies in his honour.

 During his visit, Dr. Narayanan performed special pujas at the temple devoted to Lord Venkanna, expressing gratitude and seeking blessings for the upcoming launch. He also spoke to the media, noting a significant milestone for the Sriharikota Space Centre.
Dr. Narayanan noted that the launch on Wednesday will be the hundredth mission from Sriharikota, a centre that witnessed its first launch in 1979. He emphasised the importance of the GSLV F-15 satellite, claiming it will improve navigation skills.
 In his speech, the ISRO Chairman cited India’s impressive record of launching 433 foreign satellites from Sriharikota, demonstrating the country’s rising presence in space. He also revealed plans for a new third launch pad, which is currently under construction at a cost of Rs. 4,000 crore. This new facility will be critical to the Gaganyaan mission, India’s ambitious human spaceflight program.
